The Elisabeth earrings are named after Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun, a French Court portrait painter who is best known for her portraits of the tragic queen of France herself: Marie-Antoinette.

There are two self-portraits painted in the late 18th century; one showing the artist wearing teardrop shape pearl earrings and the other gold hoop earrings. These earrings marry those two styles together!

The Elisabeth earrings feature 18K gold plated textured hoops with 925 silver posts and faux pearls with 14K gold plated filigree detailing.

Hoops measure 29 mm in diameter and faux pearls measure approx. 12x29 mm.

The Baroque & Lovin It Collection is inspired by the Late Baroque/Rococo artistic period that became popular in the latter years of the 18th century. This style can be easily recognised in architecture and interiors by the abundant usage of gold and white, undulating lines and decorative shells and flowers. In paintings you will notice heavy use of pastel colours, sensuous fabrics and floral motifs. The scenes or subject matters will usually carry an overarching sense of frivolity and idyllic beauty.
